I broke my arm(radius in two places, ulna in one) doing a switch ollie down a six stair and had to have surgery. Now I've got two plates in my arm and a huge scar on each side.

i've got the same injury. only one plate though. i broke it again a year later beside the plate they put in.  when it broke the first time, a kid laughed because he thought it was my board that snapped. shit was loud.  at least i can still do hand plants.

maybe not my worst,  but one i remember.  i kicked out at the last second (pussy) on a large gap. one of my feet landed on the tail, board flipped up into my face, broke my nose. i was 15, i think.  i was truant from school, so mom was pissed.  i've broken a ton of shit, over the years.

and yes, i later went back to complete the tricks.

I think I started posting when I was 13 after I broke my leg.
I broke my leg in five places when i was younger. You'll be shredding again soon. Shit, once you get a walking cast you can tear up some mini-ramp madness.

I'm just gonna go ahead and fuck up this dead horse.

The whole story is that I got a new skateboard and a trip to a skatepark in Santa Fe for my 13th birthday. I tried a frontside 50 on a bank that had some coping, twisted around and sat on my leg. There was a spiral fracture with 2 clean breaks and 2 cracks on my tibia and 1 clean break of the fibula. I was young enough that something they called "growth plates" in my leg were still open, so I didn't need any screws or rods. They said I would have needed 2 rods and over 10 screws. It took 16 weeks before I was completely out of a cast again.

ouch!!  i friend of mine did this on a FS air last year. he's was 30. his leg has a ton of metal parts in it. but he's fully healed up now also.

A friend of mine did a similar 'land on the tail to face smack'. He was doing varial flips on his carpet and the board hit him in the bottom lip. He went to the hospital and the nurse was able to stick her pinky through the hole it made, haha. Funny in retrospect, as most injuries are.

On the subject of completing the trick I was trying, I did eventually, but I never really lost the fear of going frontside on any sort of tranny until about 2 months ago. I went to bum park, drank two tall cans of Mickey's and forced myself to learn frontside 50's, 5-0's and tail slides. Very satisfying.

Mine was fucking loud too. My friend I was skating with thought I had just slapped the palm of my hand on the ground really hard. I didn't feel anything when it happened so I thought that was all it was too until I looked down and saw my arm pointed in the wrong direction. My friend has pictures of it before the doctors set it.

Did they use stitches or staples when you had surgery? They stapled my shit so I have all these little scars where they were. It makes my scars resemble centipedes, and I've often thought about getting centipedes tattooed on them. The thought of rebreaking that arm next to the plates scares the shit out of me. When you rebroke yours did they just set it and throw a cast on it?

As far as getting hit in the face with skateboards, I've got a scar within a centimeter of my left eye from my board popping up and hitting me. It was so long ago I don't even remember how it happened, but I'm happy it wasn't a direct hit.

when i broke it, an ambulance picked me up at the park.  i brought my board and bag with me. they doped me up a bit for the pain, took some x rays, and put a cast on it. a big cast that went up to my arm pit.  i walked out the front door of the hospital and bombed the hill back down to the park. i had to pick up my bros car.

2 weeks later, i went for more x rays. it wasn't setting properly and i would have had no twisting motion in my wrist. they rebroke it and used the plate to set it.  even after the second break, i have full movement. i cut the cast off when i got sick of it.

I had the skateboard pop up and hit me in the face and knock out my two front teeth, they drilled little holes into the bases of the teeth in my gums and screwed some new ones in

Smacked the back of my head on the ground at the skatepark this morning. Got a fairly small gash, but there was a lot of blood. I sat on a bench for about 20 minutes until I thought the bleeding had stopped, but then when I got home (after not wiping it for about 15 minutes), it was still going, so I went to the hospital. Now I'm sitting at work with a couple staples in my head.

I landed on my tail bone also, which is more of a bummer now, because walking is fucking painful. I've been having lower back pain for a couple years (although it was finally fucking starting to feel like it was getting better), and this destroyed it. I can barely lift my feet, and when I walk I probably look like I just spent the night in prison with a bunch of angry, horny, well-hung gentlemen. Fucking sweet. I was supposed to help my girlfriend move tonight, so at least I get out of that.

Not nearly as bad as breaking a bone (which I've never done), but it was probably the worst slam I've taken. Speaking of which, shouldn't the title of this thread be "Your worst slam"?

once when i was at the park a little kid (probly 9 or so) tried to go over a 5-6ft spine on his bike, stuck on the coping and face dove with the bike landing on the back of his head, and neck, his eyes were wide open and he was like snorting and gasping, but fully knocked out, i ran over and i picked the bike off of him and had to carry him out of the park across the block to a baseball game that was going on, so they could call an ambulance, and EVERYBODY was staring at me as i was carrying the kid towards the game, fully limped out over my shoulders, (burping position) yet nobody ran up to help or even acted concerned, they just stared in horror................

maybe they looked at you that way because you're not really supposed to move someone that looks to have a serious head or neck injury, genius.

whatever man, look what happend to ramondetta, his face is all scarred up because they didnt move him after his seizure. and it basicly cooked his cheek.......they could have easily rolled him off his face, and dragged him of a scorching ramp.
