If voting counts- Busenitz

If not it's going to Gravette  (Did the most for the mag out of anyone considered)

Cole was the SOTY though.

Maybe if Cole filmed a vert part?

I'm going with Busenitz.

Where'd the am thread go?   If ams were allowed Vincent Alvarez would be the guy.
coles banger in the 2nd hotwax video was a vert trick...

honestly, if cole won every year, i wouldnt be mad... the guy shreds...

I think Cole deserves it don't get me wrong.   It's just the Danny Way comparison.    Cole's contributions to "street" are unmeasurable but Danny Way has contributed to both vert and street on such heavy levels.

what did danny contribute to street the second year he won it?

The second time was for all the mega ramp stuff if my memory serves me correct.    I'd say if there's anything "street" about that stuff is well....doing flip tricks at 40 mph is pretty fucking raw.   But then you could argue he's just freestyling.

Dude did back three Macba though.

I'm considering the dudes whole career.    The street skating he did in Questionable and especially Virtual Reality were some major things at the time.

Busenitz, no question.

If Cole didn't already win it, he'd definitely deserve it this year, but I think giving to someone twice is retarded (yes, even to DWay) when there are so many awesome skaters that could get it.

Busenitz could have gotten it last year or the year before, so I'd definitely give it to him this year.

wow picked up the new mag today and wish I would have sent my vote in for Gravette now. Maybe next year.

Anyone could win mentioned in this thread and I will be happy, fuck it.

two days ago i  posted a new topic on the message board with the subject being-bob burnquist for skater of the year-and the next day i went to check on it and it was gone(deleted maybe)so i made a new one yesterday and its not posted...so this is my new one one with a different "subject"

BOB FUCKING KILLED IT IN THE FLIP VIDEO STRAIGHT STABBED HE DESERVES THAT FUCKIN TROPHY

boycott the bullshit

Burnquist was skater of the year back in '97 or '98 I think.

I'm pretty sure only Danny Way has been given skater of the year twice, so it's pretty unlikely that you'll see Bob win again... especially with guys like Busenitz and others tearing it up without ever receiving the award.

Either way, you shouldn't look at SotY as such a competitive thing. It is just a way to honor those that make skateboarding that much better through their contribution to the thing we all know and love.

((It seems its not letting me post in the other SotY thread, but I just wanted to get that off my chest.))
