I make decent money, but still never switch boards until I break the one I'm riding.  Even though I presently have.... 7 spares in the house.   I think there are 11 broken ones under the table in my back room...  Gonna be a cool looking fire at the shop contest I'm entering in a couple weeks...  Wheels and trucks too.  Until I can see some axle and the kingpins are getting in the way, I keep riding trucks.  Wheels until they're too small to ride over sidewalk cracks.  And I've got 2 sets of indys and a set of wheels sitting waiting now too.

And it pisses me off when I see someone focus a board too.  I did it once in my life, but the board was already cracked through by the truck so badly that when I stood on it, the tail almost touched the ground.  And I did it so lightly that I thought there was no way it would actually snap.

When I was younger all i ever rode was other kids old boards, and I could never believe what some rich kids were tossing. When I see kids focus their boards like they grow on trees it makes me angry inside.

Yeah, I hate watching anyone focus their board. There are so many poor kids in my area that ride the same worn out decks all the time. Not just soggy, but entire chunks of the tail/nose missing, half the grip tape ripped off. If I'm switching out decks, I always give my old one to somebody that needs it.

The next one is going to this kid riding around w/ one Indy and one Bennet (I think it's a Bennet). Maybe I should give up my trucks instead. Smiley

Speaking of helping out the underprivileged, we tried this I think a couple of years ago but got on it too late, but it's still a good idea. We all pitch in and get some skate products for the poor kids for Christmas. I'm broke as fuck but I know I could scrape up and extra $20 to help make a lil groms Christmas better. If we got the poor dude that's getting 3-5 decks a month to throw one or two our way we could really do something nice this year.

And, maybe Thrasher could have a contest for the person that does the most charitable thing during the holiday season. Winner gets a complete and Thrasher gives one to a charity.

some sweet ideas.  i also give away my old decks/gear. which are usually in pretty good shape still.  i leave them in my trunk so i can give 'em away at the park.

i have been known to be "that guy" who will focus a board or throw it.

a board lasts me, on average, 2 weeks. i like to skate spots that are pretty rough on a board. i don't jump down things much anymore, they are just really rough spots that will chip and razortail a board fast. but i don't want to not skate a spot just to have my board last longer, that makes things less fun and then what is the point of skating. i know some dudes that will only skate spots with perfect ground and terrain...kinda boring to me, though i do like to skate those spots on occasion.

I can't wait till we start getting flows from Naysayer!  Wink
in all honesty, if shipping *cough*anddiscounts*cough* could be worked out, ordering a few naysayer boards for the next few months would be TOO rad! recently, if i've needed new wood, i've had to either be willing to wait 3-4 weeks for one from an online shop (one that ships to guam) or buy one from the local mall shop.

lose lose for me...

i'll see what we can work out. one week til the boards get here...i'll look into the shipping cost.

a board lasts me like a month to a month and a half cause i usually skate bowls, so that usually doesnt lead to many board breaks. and even if the board is messed up i hate to switch them until their completly wrecked cause I feel like its sorta being waste full... whatever...
