I read this, it's from about 2 months ago on a different site...

To collectors and anyone else who is stoked about H-Street coming back

I just wanted to say what's up and let everyone know (if you already didn’t) that H-Street is definitely coming back. My name is Cheyne and I am T-Mag's kid, the one with the red mullet in all the old videos. These days, I don't have that mullet, though my hair is still red and I surf for a living. I don’t know a lot about collecting but I think its rad and I’ll be on here to field any of your questions about H-Street. We definitely want your input about anything so feel free to ask me whatever, if I don’t know it, I’ll just call the old man. I know that he still busts 10 ft airs and does the mega ramp but I'm only 26 so to me he's old. Not saying that in a bad way, my dad definitely has been a part of redefining old anyway. I just injured my knee surfing so I have a bunch of downtime to bs about anything. My dad also wrote a letter to all the collectors, so check that out too. Anyways, stoked to be on here and amongst the faithful!!!

Open Letter to All Collectors

This is Tony Mag and I wanted to give you a bit of insight as to our limited edition Original Re-Issue Series of skateboards and the Original wood, as well as some info on the history of H-Street and the rest of the lineup of our initial line.

For those that don’t know, I started making skateboards with Uncle Wiggley Skateboards back in the early 80’s and learned a variety of processes for not only making composite skateboards but making tooling as well. Of course, I mention tooling since the original Hell Concave molds were made by my hands at the UWS shop. Once H-Street got going around ’86 or so, some of the UWS technology was brought into some of the boards that were made at that time. The UWS shop made a very rare Titanium inserted boards for one of my boards and Ron Allen. We called them “Ti-Tech” and I have a pretty mint example of each one of these boards that may be available for sale sometime in the future.

So back to the present; the Original Re-issue Series is a collection of boards that are made true to their original shape, to the extent that it was possible to determine that. I say that as a disclaimer because sometimes graphics would be run on different boards and sometimes the riders updated or changed the shape along the way. I’ve also included an original drill pattern and the boards are silkscreened, not transfer graphics. They are numbered in two different ways; you have your standard “X of 30” and you also have the series labeled with a letter. This means that there is only going to one board to ever have the number “2 of 30, A Series”, as an example. The next time we run that particular board, it will probably have different colors and be labeled as the “B Series”. And yes, the “A Series” of all limited edition are made in batches of around 30-50.

Three of the five boards also are made from the original Hell Concave tooling. I got together with Paul Schmitt and casted a bottom mold from the original mold that I made in the 80’s. PS Stix are making all the Original Re-Issue series, as well as the Park&Pool Series (see below).

The Original Wood Series are boards that were actually made in the 80’s. We found some boards that were made on a commercial copy of the Hell Concave, that we called the “second Edition Hell Concave” at that time. I don’t remember what graphic was on this particular shape, but we made 30 each of my graphic, The Kid And Cross and Ron Allen’s No Scratch Graphic. These boards are collector items in terms of that they are limited to how many we actually have on hand, which we don’t know. The reason why, is that they were acquired along with a bunch of other boards that aren’t that interesting and we haven’t gone through all the boxes yet. But we also got a hold of some other non-H-Street 80’s wood and put Elguera’s Cat and Gummy Logo on it. Same deal, 80’s shapes, not nessarily with the original graphic, but wood that was made in the 80’s. One more thing; we made these boards as collector items and we don’t know how suitable they are for riding. The boards seem quite light, which means that moisture could have evaporated from the wood and made them less durable. Ride at your own risk.

This brings us to the Park&Pool Series. This is a line of boards that are not meant to be collector’s items; they are meant for people that like to ride old school boards, presumably in parks and pools. The boards have a new school hole pattern, some updated shapes and some updated graphics that aren’t necessarily true to the original. In some cases, there are even brand new graphics, like Art Godoy’s pool board. The Park&Pool series boards are designed to not only respect the tradition and history of H-Street but also cater to what modern old-school skating is today. Right now, we have a board for Dave Hackett and even though he did not ride for H-Street back then, he is true legend of skateboarding and we might have boards for other guys like him down the road, you just never know.

Finally, if you have any input, questions or comments, please feel free to email them to my kid Cheyne Mags at cheyne@h-street.com, who’s been tapped as Field Commander in the H-Street Battalion Division. We are always busy, so don’t expect an answer quickly unless you email very interesting comments and/or questions. Also, keep in mind that there’s lots of different opinions of what is historically accurate, what is a good design, what H-Street was, what it should be, etc. While we might be entertained and perhaps interested your comments on these issues, please keep things positive and keep in mind that there’s no greater authority on H-Street than me.

Faithfully Yours,

Tony Mag, Battalion Commander.
