What?  That Berra is a scientologist?  No joke.
That is really weird.  How do people get sucked into that crap?
He married Juliette Lewis.  Hollywood will fuck your head up.

I dont see why this is such a big deal that they charge a few for skateshops to advertise on their site, it makes sense to me.  They need to cover all the costs of keeping the berrics up and running.

some of us seem to think is a big deal simply because he was so duplicitous in his approach...

exactly. sorry i am late to this but i have been super busy lately. anyway, the main issue with this was that berra was making it out to seem like he was doing this to single handedly save skateboarding as an act of goodwill. he did not mention pricing because he wanted all the kids watching to think he wasn't charging, since only the shops inquiring would know that. except he forgot about the whole social media thing and how word of mouth spreads like wildfire. i watched his back and fourth on twitter with exit skateshop out of philly and lost any remaining respect i had for him. there is sort of a recap here: http://haveboard.com/the_berrics_unified_pay_to_play/

advertising is advertising, which is fine...but it should be stated as such.

I could see Carnie saying something.  Not in the pages of the Skateboard Mag though.

Nieratko could do some damage.   But who cares about an ESPN employee?

see? it's not that he's selling advertising on the berrics (which actually is a good idea, and for the amount of visibility/credibility by association shops get, it does offer some serious bang for the buck) it's the way he chose to do it.

Yea you guys are right, he isnt justified for trying to make himself look like a saint as he charges Indulgences.  I think he is very bitter and jealous that Rob D has a TV show in a warehouse on the same street as him.

also, i think it is funny that he is trying to "help" the shops when he rides for active...one of the biggest problems shops are facing (alongside ccs and the other mailorders).
