The Duff man came into my office the other day and we were talking about who should get it. He basically laid it all out and it really became crystal clear. Chris Cole did so fucking much this year in skateboarding. No, not just won every contest. He did some gnarly skateboarding. 2 never before done tricks down Wallenberg (for a THRASHER event), two video parts, the fuckin' blizard flip down Carlsbad?!?!?, a cab front blunt down a hand railing, the list goes on and on. No doubt all the other people mentioned are great skateboarders, but none accomplished what Captain Cole did this year. This is not THRASHER's opinion, it's mine... and the Duff man's.
Think about this too: next year we should see at least one full part from Leo Romero in the Emerica video, a full part from Busenitz in the REAL video and another year of Malto-that's a lot to look forward to.
Congrats Chris, you definitely DESERVED IT!

Cole seems like a pretty nice guy as well. So humble. Again great job duder!

I was expecting Malto to get SOTY because I didn't think Phelps would give it to Cole a second time, especially so soon.  That aside Cole definitely deserved it - he pwn3s everything in his path.

I did think DWay should be the sole exception to get it twice but those points are pretty hard to argue with.

thrasher needs to hook up busenitz with an interview next year. that with the real vid should be enough of a reason to give it to him. he has to get it. soon. this is an opinion shared with skaters the world over.

what's with all this bullshit about D Way being the only skater who should have won SOTY twice?
If a skater rips like no other vis a vis Captain Cole, than give him the fucking award!!!!! Let go of your traditions and idols people, Chris Cole deserved SOTY again regardless of Phelps' rule and your preconcieved notions  Grin

with everyone going crazy over busenitz before voting, it seems as though nobody remembers that phelps only cares about the coverage in THRASHER, and really there wasnt much

Chris killed it this year, I think he is very deserving and there wasn't that many to challenge. 

That being said, he's just another Mullen to me... mad respect, but can't stand to watch. Might as well be watching Falco Baltys
