In Fully Flared, Alex Olson's back-tail-huge-kickflip-out is one of my favorite ledge tricks I've ever seen.

I really fucking hate it when people ask "Was that a book too?".
"Yes, it was a book, and the book was miles better than the film."

Whenever that happens, just use it as an opportunity to get people more involved in reading. :]

The author of Fight Club once stated that he liked how the film ended better than the one he wrote in the book. I'd have to agree... but I'm probably biased because I'm a huge movie dork. Its actually all I do when I can't sleep at night (which is quite often due to insomnia of all things haha Sad ) Before I threw away my television, TCM was the only channel I could stand watching haha!

But yeah, I'm also an avid reader, yet I rarely compare a film adaptation to the original in terms of if it is better or not. To me they're totally separate things. Good examples of this are pretty much any comic book movie. Even ones that try to recreate the comics frame-by-frame, like Watchmen or Sin City. I remember seeing Hellboy after having read the entire comic series a few years ago and loved it, despite the fact that the movie was drastically different comic.

I also like films based on books cause they are usually good reads if you liked the movie. I hate hunting for books. Its so much easier to sit through a shitty movie than a shitty book. I saw The Road recently in theaters and it was amazing. Ever since I saw the Road Warrior when I was a kid, I've been obsessed with post-apocalyptic stories... but finding good books of this theme is pretty hard. Anyway, the movie was so awesome I'm going to go pick up the book when I get the chance and I'm quite sure that I'll be comparing the book with the movie I saw, not against.

....  One I liked recently was Into the Wild. Also, I always assume the book was better, and take the film for what it is.  Can enjoy them a lot more that way.

Actually, I thought this was a rare occasion where the movie was better than the book.
