Do your parents/family support you skateboarding?

 Parents didnt care until i broke my leg when i was 15. Then after a year when i was ok they would break my setups and stuff. After that i was depressed and all i did was playing video games. After another year they were sick of it and told me you can skate just get the fuck outta here. Now i am 22 still skating, my parents thought that when i grow up i will give up. They look at it as something childish and they always give me shit about it, but i have caught them telling to their friends how proud they are of me focusing on an outdoor activity than being like the rest just chasing pussy in bars and clubs all day long. However they wont admit it in front of me.


Skateboarding made me who i am if u hate it you hate me.

PS if you are all day in the streets you see the world raw as it is and this is a real bummer when you are a teen. This knowledge is serious and i feel lucky about that. Our parents should too

My parents got me one board when I was younger. I made it last as long as possible. Now that I'm 22 they say I need to get my life on track. But I still skate because skating is part of my life.

I wrestled for 11 years and would get out of practice and head to the outdoor rink. I guess I was a pretty good wrestler but hockey was my love. Gotta get out and play again.. the whole family plays or at least used to. They always kicked me outta the car to put my skates on in the warming house, I would come out and see the spark of the lighter in the car as the family was getting warmed up. 

Oh, and please, all you middle class white pricks, have pity on me as I'm from a poor Mexican family.

they were cool with it, and would sometimes buy me a setup when i had a good report card for the summer.
they were just glad i had friends and was out of the house doing something, i told them about the few times i got in trouble, and they didnt like that, so i stopped telling them. however, they never really cared that i skated, and would often tell me that if i spent as much time studying as i did skateboarding i would be a fucking genius.

i play music too, and the same applied for that. that if i spent as much time into punk rock as i did reading a book, i would be blah blah blah....

they just cared about me doing well in school, and i did, so i didnt get hassled too much.

now when they found out i smoked weed.... oh boy
