I try to skate for a little over an hour each morning before work. It absolutely improves the quality of my day. The drive from the park to work after a satisfying skate feels 20 times better than when I have to process the shame of giving in to the sleep fairy as I drive from my place directly to work.

I'm the most anti morning person ever, and I always feel fucking terrible when I wake up that early, so I rarely get all five days, which pisses me off because every night I'm all looking forward to skating. But then in morning when my alarm goes off the endless struggle resumes... I could get up and endure the ~45 minutes of freezing painful hell before I get to the park and start to warm/wake up or I could say fuck it and enjoy another 1-2 hours or delicious sleep. Sometimes a bigger reward in the long run can't beat instant gratification. But knowing it'll be worth it gets me out of bed more often than not.

Every once in awhile I get a week where I make all five days, and I reward myself by partying a little harder that weekend. I don't think I've ever gotten two weeks in a row.

super motivating.  I'm going to try this. 


and the blue text is just a little extra effort that screams LOOK AT ME. 

and that's always annoying.
