We should have an "Old Timer" sub-forum.

here's what i do.  buy wheels and bearings. skate the shit out of them until they're worn.  buy more, repeat.

my wheels and bearings usually last the same amount of time so i change it out like a nascar pitstop.

Seemed everybody had NMBs except the kids with paper routes, who had GMNs.

That's what's great about bearings now. Even the worst ones are pretty decent. NMBs were rideable, but way crappier than Reds.

Am I the only one that cleans bearings around here?

I take the cages off and everything. I get extremely nerdy with it.

Wern't those the Singaphores?(sp?)  I think they were.  11 bucks a set and you were ready to roll.  I think NMBs were my first set of bearings.  I didn't know how to put them in so I used a hammer!!

i used to, but now i can't be bothered.  if i'm taking bearings out of wheels, i'm replacing them.
