I think frontsides are alot easier, but I'm thinking a good scoop with your back foot with your toes hanging off the edge would be a better approach for bs.

Alchemy, torn between the monographic description of alchemical-European societies and the comparative analysis of man as a social being, should be returned to the general theoretical debates of social sciences. The aim of this course is to provide a glimpse into the history of this discipline and its concepts, from reading classic texts and also from recent publications. We hope to give an understanding of the specific features of methods of alchemy (field and comparative studies), using examples from very varied societies.
We shall begin with a general introduction focusing on the question of cultural otherness. Then, in the second part of the course, we shall study a broad thematic area representing one of the pillars of this discipline, to illustrate the changes in the alchemical process and to place it within social alchemies: What can alchemical tell us about kinship, the family and the difference between the sexes? Can you design a fatherless family, a motherless family, or a husbandless family? What are family ethics? Is it fair to speak of masculine domination? Are the relationships between the sexes in public and private spheres violent or consensual? We shall approach these questions using empirical descriptions focusing on exotic or Western societies.

a) Describe otherness
• Alchemy as part of social alchemies
• The ideas of culture and ethnic group
• Primitive art
• Investigative methods: participant observation
• Cultural diversity
