Maybe all the people that are "close" to him actually hate him and are messing with him telling him it's good when they really just laugh at him behind his back.

unfortunately that is not the case. the people he has around him are people that are trying to use him and his money to get their rap careers going. they reinforce his thoughts so that he goes all in and they can ride his coat tails.
