honestly, el toro would be pretty boring. only a couple tricks would go down. i would rather see a spot with more trick potential. the spot has to be in sf, right? what about hubba?

Thats probably what eveybody thought about wallenberg. until Frank Gerwer flipped it, it seemed like an impossible spot, but look at all the crazy shit that went down there. I find it very narrow minded to say that only a few tricks would go down at el toro. I mean, quite a few tricks have already been landed there, so we all know it is quite possible. A contest would inspire the skaters to go at it even harder, meaning more tricks, more potential. You wanna see a trick on hubba ledges, then watch almost any other skate contest. watch the fucking x games for all I care, you got hubbas there with lots of trick potential. watch maloof, watch G vs. R..... El Toro is fucking gnarly, thats what makes it so attractive to watch and would leave everyone in suspense to see what goes down. And dont tell me you wouldnt watch it. Every skater would watch it with great anticipation and remember it for years to come.

the thrasher contest down that 16 stair was the same thing. it is a few more stairs. the same people will be trying the same tricks. there isn't even a rail there anymore. the cool thing about wallenburg was that it was long, not just a drop, like el toro. but using your same logic, you can go to any contest and see people hucking themselves down stairs too. the appeal is that it is a street spot. hubba is a street spot and is not a perfect spot like most contests have. honestly, i would rather see something at the hook (that large over vert tranny in texas, i think). but that isn't in sf. just like el toro. if they are going to leave sf for a contest i can think of a ton of better spots than boring ol el toro. even carlsbad would be more interesting.

How about a joust?  Skaters careers would go flying high, everyone would watch it, and I would remember it for at least a week or so.

Skate Joust Battle Money Cup League 2010.
I can see it now...Danny Way vs. Chris Cole overtime...3 seconds to go...D-Way throws off his pads...the referee blows the whistle... Cole swings for the fences..annnnnnd....

I was thinking something with tranny would be better if there was even a desire to revisit the same old thing. This way you would have different kinds of tricks and skaters in the mix.
El Toro just sounds like a bad idea. It would just be a corpse toss.

......

Actually I would enjoy seeing people just eating shit for nothing...
