No worries, I love this part!
The pattern(s) are designs that are cut away from the sheet of grip. Imagine looking across a smooth surface, like a tennis court. Now that would be similar to a reg sheet of grip. Now picture a cobble stone street, that's what we've engineered. An irregular textured surface. But unlike a cobble stone street or surface, we applied certain theories based on many years of skateboarding experience.
We have three patterns at the moment.
The Matrix - which provides certain dynamics aimed at executing basic tricks.
The Flower of Life - that targets all around advanced technique.
The Evolution - transition and cruising is where this design excells.
IDK, it really works. Email me if you'd like to check it out... I still owe a few peeps some grip, but I'm sending some more samples out before the holidays.
Thank you for reading, asking questions and having an open mind!

would you be able to modify it by putting others things in your grip job or does it only work as a whole?

Such a great question! Yes! One of our flow riders made some amazing combinations of the thee grip sheets on one board. Pics on our FB page. What is crazy is how he analyzed different areas of performance and used the three patterns to improve different areas of the grips dynamics. Lol. I get super nerdy about griptape, er, traction* I'll try to get the pics up on this thread.
Some of our 2011 projects are geared towards grip art and creative aspects of grip jobs. That's where the roots of this are deepest I definaty got down on the late eighties grip thing. I can't say much more about that yet.

very cool board! its like a pig but with a modern twist coming in at 9" making for more maneuverable dimensions. I for one am pushing for this collabo to happen-- did you hand pick the shape or maybe even design it?

it was just a test board that the people who press the One decks made and just gave it to me. I ended up loving it and asked if we could do that as a board with a graphic on it. Then just sorta slid the idea of the collabo in there and now were workin on graphics for it. im super siked on it, hopefully youll see it soon!

That's really cool-- great photo-- love the invert!

I'm pretty into shapes. I got my hands on some Z-blanks nearly 25 years ago and started from there. Skip has been a huge influence and inspiration. Most of my early designs were based somewhat in part on his SMA boards. I'm working on a few 'old school' shapes with modern dimensions for Ender. Definitely a direction I'd like to take my modest co. in besides the popsicle sticks, which have their own particular cool nuances as well.

Let me know how that Flower of Life design works out for you, that's the only one I haven't tried yet. I loved the Evolution. I just set up a board with the Matrix design but again ( just like last time ) shot photos the very first day I set it up-- then I bruised my foot a little filming a line the next day, so I've yet to properly get a feel for it.

Alright, my review time!

So I've been skating with the grip for like a week or maybe a bit more, and honestly, its probably the best grip tape I've ever had. I'm not much of a  flip trick guy so I really just want my grip tape to be super gritty and stick to my feet as best as possible, and thats exactly what it did. However, even when I did do flip tricks, it wasn't so grippy (like with mob) that it just stuck to my feet and wouldnt get away, everything seemed to be able to flick right away.

The only problem I have with it is that every single kid has to ask me how I made my grip tape look like that...
So I'm gonna 100% back this grip.

So, you're all saying that it's actually worth the 13 bucks? Or did it just seem extra good because you happened to get it for free. Reading the good reviews made me rethink about it but I don't know I'm still a little hesitant to cough up 13 more dollars for a complete.

heres the thing, i dont really have to pay for boards, so dropping 13 bucks for grip tape thats awsome it totally worth it. however, 50 or more bucks for a deck and then adding 13 on for more grip (which is normally free) deffinatly would be beat. however, if you do, its totally worth it. id say if your like me and can keep a board for over a month or something its totally worth it 100%. but if your like susej and break them every week or more then that its probably not worth the extra cost
