i love how he's holding his ripoff of the chuck taylor next to the ripoff of his ripoff in an article about how poor little mulletman is being ripped off.

it's an irony spiral.

But it's so lame.. had I known Jimmy Z, Mt Dew, Vision Street Wear, Red Bull, Anti Hero....etc were part of skateboarding. II would have kept my chin up and would have realized how gay skateboarding really is. Skateboarding is dead and it's gay. #AMIRIGHT?

Quote
you'd see photos and shit of gonz wearing cool offbeat shit he had obviously found at a thrift store, and then vision would make their (stupid, ii-fitting, neon crackly) version of it.
You nailed this dynamic spot on and the board meeting discussion was so real, I felt like I was sitting at the table! Looking back I love a lot of the iconic imagery that Vision produced but the Street Wear clothing line looked like something Wham would sport. It was clothes kids would buy at the mall. " stupid, ill-fitting, neon crackly " ...amazing.

some people ripped streetplants and they were sick!--- but it did get out of hand. I remember going to EMB around that time in the mid 80s and being like, damn. Is anyone even skating? circles of kids with mqsqueebs trying streetplants over and over. I remember some quote about how you didn't even need a skateboard for that trick, that you could just use a TV tray. For some reason, that always stuck with me.

When I started to write this I realized it could be about more than just Sky Hooks and thier ilk, You touched on it bailgun and m477 came through with the photo. I believe Gator represents the darkest time in skateboarding. To me, he's the biggest skeleton in the closet of our chosen way of life.

Talking about missing the boat. A whole market trend ripping off your design, and you're the only company not cashing in.

Hey look guys, now we can... FLY!

I get what that Oval Dome is for but, uhh... anyone care to comment on the functionality of those little "half trucks" mounted to the 'wings'? The marketing is clever, instantly convinced me this was NO mere gimmick. I mean... any of those guys sitting around in research and development clearly had to take this thing VERY seriously
