Sorry to hear, wish you a speedy recovery. I've been trying to be as careful as I can to not get injured, seeing as anything mildly serious will get me the boot from the Navy and I'll be stuck in Rhode Island delivering pizza for the rest of my life.

SHRED 'TIL I'M DEAD

« Reply #136 on: November 26, 2012, 04:20:23 PM »

I tweaked my knee today, and the meniscus flipped to the middle of the joint, so it can't straighten. Scheduling surgery tomorrow.

My best friend and the dude who I always skate with has been suffering with a knee problem for the past few years. It was getting worse and worse over over time, but he kept on skating until he finally fucked it up so bad that he had no chance but to get it fixed. He ended up having to replace his right acl, fix the mcl, and repair some jacked up cartilage in the knee. He was laid up at his mom's house for 2 months after the surgery unable to move/walk, but he's back at home/work now, walking with one crutch, and he should be driving again in a week or two. He swears with all of is heart and soul that he WILL skate again in 2013. I really hope that he can.

Good luck with your surgery...Hopefully you'll make a speedy recovery.

SHRED 'TIL I'M DEAD

I don't know man...I've been pretty lucky in the sense that I haven't had any serious/life altering injuries, but I'm constantly nursing smaller, nagging shit. Hips, knees, ankles, elbows, wrists...even my neck is jacked up. The funny thing is that if I'm feeling really sore and I'm concerned about skating, I usually feel a lot better after I do.

We should have a contest..."Which forum member has the ugliest shins?"

currently sat with my 5th broken wrist after trying to bank to bank pop shuvit a large driveway at a skatepark near my home.

apparently a small amount of alcohol does great things for your confidence unfortunately it did not make me "fall like a drunk". instead i stomped my feet down to stick the landing and all of a sudden i was superman-ing down the other side on to flat concrete.

dislocated and broken at the same time so it needed an injection, a hell of a lot of nitrous oxide and 3 people to pull my wrist apart to uncompact it so that it would heal in the right place. luckily after MRI no surgery was needed.

cast of next thursday so im nearly bursting with excitement/desperation to get back on board.

Injuries suck. I snapped my arm last year in august then rebroke it again two months later. I was off the board for a good 5 months. Now my arm and wrist wont ever be the same and I have to skate with a brace to protect it.  Angry

Just got back into skating last September and in a few short months I've sprained my left wrist bruised both knees really bad. My right hip seems sore all the time and my right butt cheek had a bruise the size of the whole cheek. Nothing broken but solid hits. Oh the fun!!! Still stoked to be back skating.
