Washington street kills it, and is the only good thing about San Diego.
FDR kills it, in a different way, and is one of many great things about Philadelphia.
I haven't been to Burnside or portland, but I am sure they are sick.

Even if you like one, anybody who talks shit on any of these parks is a kook through and through. Have trouble skating it? Aww, poor baby. Talking shit on the park doesn't make you cooler at all. Its fucking skateboarding, not some team sports, liking one thing doesn't mean you should hate another, especially when they are pretty similar

Burnside is good for beginners.  It will teach you that life is dirty and people suck.

yeah, most tikes are full paded up at skate friendly parks....

i wish more kids had the burnside experience...

growing up skating in a parking lot with a bunch of dudes with no teeth that constantly have a high life in their hand has the same effect.

i have skated burnside (a couple trips and another to come soon), washington street (one trip), and FDR and here are my thoughts:

burnside is my favorite (note, i did not say best), and here is why...portland, there are many different styles of skaters (yes, malinas, some people like variety), there are a bunch of other sick spots in skating distance, once  you get the feel for the park it is super fun, the corner hip by the back bowl, chet childress and chaz, dude i have never heard of killing it to no avail.

i don't like: watching people slam into each other at 60 mph, inconsistent trannies (though i kinda like it at the same time), more people lurking than skating (some people are there with skateboards for hours and never even skate).

fdr is my least favorite (note, i did not say worst), and here is what i like about it...mellow and steep trannies, graffiti (even the bad stuff adds to the ambiance), philly isn't too far from ny, separate miniramp to week out those looking to skate mini.

i don't like that it is far removed from anything else you want to skate, bmxers, people just skating the bowls like miniramps, kids not being put in place (thus standing in the middle of the park), kinda small.

washington street is somewhere in the middle (and note that i have only "skated" it once). here is what i like about washington street: gnarly (it is by far the gnarliest of the three with very tall/steep walls), parking curb usage, locals doing things on it that make it clear they skate it everyday, friendlier locals than burnside (not to say that burnside locs aren't friendly, just...different, haha), wallride, bank to curb, cradle, ever(?) changing.

what i don't like: honestly, i could hardly skate it. it is not for those that occasionally skate tranny, you need to live that stuff. give me a month skating it and i might feel more comfortable, but definitely not on a first go. this is also something that i like about it, but since i was a visitor that is not a factor. little kids doing the same runs over and over (which leads to my next point), it isn't really set up  for more than one or two people to skate at the same time.

eitherway, i am down to skate any of them and since they are so far apart, i doubt i am ever going to be in a situation where i have to choose between them..."hmm, should i fly to portland or san diego today to skate?" but i am psyched to be going back to portland soon, that place is so rad.

Shut up jerk, I resemble that remark.  In all seriousness though, the crash up derby factor can be one of my favorite parts about skating there.  There's nothing quite like zinging past someone with five inches between you.

I love the bridge.

that fool is a park troll... nice

that's who needs to be posting.

zinging past some one going ape shit off some tranny is only tight when your watching... doing it on the other hand completely sucks.... but not as much as running into someone at that speed. especially a tike.
