burnside is my favorite (note, i did not say best), and here is why...portland, there are many different styles of skaters (yes, malinas, some people like variety), there are a bunch of other sick spots in skating distance, once  you get the feel for the park it is super fun, the corner hip by the back bowl, chet childress and chaz, dude i have never heard of killing it to no avail.

i don't like: watching people slam into each other at 60 mph, inconsistent trannies (though i kinda like it at the same time), more people lurking than skating (some people are there with skateboards for hours and never even skate).

Shut up jerk, I resemble that remark.  In all seriousness though, the crash up derby factor can be one of my favorite parts about skating there.  There's nothing quite like zinging past someone with five inches between you.

I love the bridge.

that fool is a park troll... nice

that's who needs to be posting.

zinging past some one going ape shit off some tranny is only tight when your watching... doing it on the other hand completely sucks.... but not as much as running into someone at that speed. especially a tike.

It definately sucks, man i was bombin aroung this corner at like mach 10 and his dude dropped in right when i was on that specific part and hit me full force. My head + concete = end of skate day. Fuckin Kook's.

I think the first time I went there I met dyck.

I will be in Portland staying 1 mile from Burnside for the next two days. I'm going for work and will likely only be able to skate at night. Other than usual park (stay out of local way) etiquette any recommendations? Bail this is mostly directed your way.

qman is actually clean and sober as of late, and even when he was all strung out and fucked up, morning was the time to cath him there. so was afternoon. so was the evening. morning was just the best, because he was usually pretty sober and lucid.

if you get a chance to talk to him, take it. he's an unforgettable character, so take a minute to talk to him about the skate army. just go early in the day (like 9 or 10am) to figure out some lines, and when the after-work session starts up, seriously consider having a beer in the parking lot. it can get pretty hectic, and the collision factor is high.

don't sit down anywhere inside of the park except up on top of the crows nest. stay out of peoples lines. bring beer.

All of this is true.  Quirk is probably one of my favorite people down there.  Shiggity Shawn, kenny and lenny just to name a few, on the other hand...
