Marginal Way is the first DIY park I've skated.  Wait!  Not true!  Warren Vermont has a project going on.  That was lumpy as fuck, set on asphalt, and hard to get speed for anything.  Marginal Way is gnarly as fuck.  I see it on the Thrasher site while I'm in VT and I'm thinking "Oh I can't wait to go to Margy and carve over the deathbox!"  No fucking way!  That shit is so sketchy!  And the wall with the metal coping?  Whew!  How the fuck Peabody got back crails on that shit mistifys me.  That place is sooooo fun though. 

So Marginal was way gnarlier than I though it would be, and so I thought that Burnside would be also.  I think that as far as trannies and steepness go, Burnside is much mellower than Margy, however, it is way harder to keep your speed at burnside, and that shit takes some getting used to.  I wish that I could skate there every day.

Washington street looks amazing, and I am a big fan of bells and whistles.  Aka, loveseats, wallrides, bank to ledges, boobs, cradles, tight trannys, and everything in between.  That park looks fast as fuck with soooooooo many easy to find lines. From what I have read though, it is way gnarlier than it looks and fuck!  I can't wait to skate that shit!

Big ups to anyone and everyone who has every been a part of any of these parks.  I think that they are some of the coolest, weirdest, most amazing human creations on the earth.  It's so inspiring to see what a bunch of "lazy" "worthless" fucking skateboarders can do when they really go all out on something.

i used to love the banks but i am starting to despise them. i was skating there yesterday and got bummed out by all the bikers and little kids filming their lines that consisted of 180s and halfcabs on flat. i miss going there and practically have a run of the place with few people showing up there. at least i did get to see a cop drive into one of those things that are raised up from the ground to keep traffic out and another cop in the booth has to let down for anyone to get through. i guess he wasn't paying attention of the cop in the booth wasn't, but it was awesome.

it is a DIY scene. just as burnsiders took over the spot below the burnside bridge, NYer took over the underside of the brooklyn bridge. it was claimed for us. as far as obsticles go, they city wasn't going to do anything for us. they were going to screw it up (and kinda did) but steve rodriguez (owner of 5boro) stepped in and got them to make it better by getting rid of some planters and adding a flatbar and some granite slabs. he (with the support of companies for bank to the banks) built a bunch of obstibles there too. well pensyl and other actually built them, but due to him. DIY is a lot more than just pouring cement illegally.

I do a lot of my own gowns for pageants as well.

The banks needs more stuff, there needs to be a legit concrete park in new york city, like some bowls and shit. Especially since all the legit bowls/mini ramps are for 16/18+ and cost money to skate. I'm pretty sure there are backyard pools to skate all around suburban New York, just can't find any .
