They realized they could make money? Just ignore it. Better yet, embrace it for what it is. Yeah it sucks that these guys weren't really around from the get go, but whatever. They sponsor some pretty down to earth dudes and some kooks, just like any other "skate" company. Bottom line is they make it so people can do what they love and still make decent money.

Yeah, yeah...skateboarding shouldn't be about the money, but it is. I admit I was a little perturbed when NikeSB started showing up everywhere, fuck it, money rules the world my friend. Best thing you can do is not buy into that shit, support local companies, and just skate. Bottom line: just do what makes you happy.

One more thing. The Target shit isn't so bad....now poor kids can buy decent skate shoes for less....Just try to find the good side to it I guess...

i kinda gotta agree with snot ramp bombs^^ i bought my vans from a place called mervyns cuz they were cheap and i was in my early teens. so affordable shoes are great even if they are from somewhere like target,even if the quality of the shoes aren't top notch

It sucks that those places compete with skateshops though. I would assume, that if skateshops could move a ton of skate shoes to skateboarders and DC-wearing non-skateboarders, they could sell them pretty cheap to kids too.

very true, but for all those people that don't skate but still wear shoes like vans, dc, globe, osiris, or other such shoes, it is way easier for them to go to the mall than to look up their local skate shop. i've witnessed first hand a shop i considered a second home fall victim to the invasion of mall shops like zumiez even though he sold the same shoes as the mall store for significantly cheaper. the point of my long rant being is that ven if a core shop sells for cheaper, the mall goons don't care enough for it to matter
