ARTO ON ALIEN

From the Thrasher Message boards, user Bowserhound breaks the news that Arto has left FLiP for Alien Workshop. Geoff Rowley had this to say: "Arto is like a brother to me. After years of being on the same team with the same goals it was time for him to move on. We remain the best of friends and will continue to skate together probably harder and probably more so than ever!!! I wish him all the best and as a brother, I shall always have his back"

Seems like a weird team change. Nevermind the Burton/Analog/Gravis deal. Arto is fucking gnarly, I just don't see him on Alien. I bet if you asked actual team riders, they would not hate but feel the same. The Alien team is on lock and there was no need for such a switch. Corporate politics yo! pretty much an amazing move by arto. i would have never expect him to leave flip ever, especially since he really became sth like a brother to geoff! but however, as sad as artos step may be, its on the same hand a great chance for him to start his new career-springtime...;-) to be honest, arto wasnt all that amazing in the past three years. maybe he gets his head stright on aws. he though should slow down this flip crew drink-smoke-chill style!

Arto is a fucking man and one of the greatest skaters of all-time. He's already done all the gnarly huge stuff early in his career, before he was derailed by serious injuries. He's come back and been doing amazing shit since his injuries, it's just different.

The first thing I was going to mention was the berra and kirchart move from bird house. Almost completely similar situations.

Relax! This is an excellent move. Flip was gnarly, but it probably won't be a company as long as the demographic (you guys) keep buying Alien/Girl and choc/zero/plan b... (whatever else gets eaten up)

This is not a tragedy for the pro skaters, they will push the sport for you on any board. Besides, they are all the same shape, so woopty fuck!

My condolences goes to those running the company, hopefully they can find new jobs swiftly.
