A giant pipe/capsule combo and a shabby street course. Purkiss-Rose, the skatepark-building behemoth who have pretty much cornered the market on public skateparks in Southern California, continue to surprise and startle with their interpretation of what street skaters might enjoy riding.

GOOD: Free. It's a friggin' pipe!

BAD: Cops, pads, and an almost never-ending stream of teenage gawkers from the nearby YMCA whose main goal in life seems to be bragging loudly about themselves while pointing out the shortcomings of others all at the same time and in shrill, unpleasant tones.

PADS: Yes

ADDRESS: 1201 San Bernardino Rd, Upland, CA 91786, USA

HOW TO FIND IT: From I-10 East exit Euclid and go left (north). Go right on Foothill. The park is in a large city park past two lights on the right.

Thrasher Skatepark Rating: 0 / 10
