adidas San Francisco Demo Photos
8/18/2016
Yesterday the adidas dudes came through SF for a streetstyle demo at the Waller ledges. One of the cool things about the event was that they gave all the local shops (FTC, PLA, DLX, Atlas and 510) a budget to make their own unique obstacles. The afternoon was full of good vibes, high winds, scattered clouds and countless tricks by the adidas team and locals alike. Thanks to everyone who came out. —Dan Z
I got there two hours before the demo and rippers were already getting it
Looks interesting!
Cairo’s an industry man now so in the streets he’s just one of the crowd
T-minus one hour before demo time
Things were coming together
Heavily shredded, courtesy of Matt Jones
Nice touch, 510!
Filling in nicely
A family affair
The man behind the lens, Justin Albert
Deawon’s in the house
What’s good, Miles?
This was right after Daewon ate shit trying to ollie onto the teetering ledge
Foster and Field, tight bros from way back
Cairo has some devoted fans
One more skate shop pulling up
What’s this, PLA boys?
Hmmmmm…
A bump to bar!
TJ came through with a stripped axle so I hooked him up. (This is his stoked face)
Social Media Slave, Lui Elliot
Shit started to go off
And I was just getting in the way
Even Shier got in on it
Busenitz (was out with a nasty heel bruise)
Silas appreciates the tranny-ledge vibes
Everybody was welcome to join
Is this what Jake Donnelly thinks about demos?
Where’s Daewon?
He’s in the corner playing SKATE with the kids
New adidas photog?
Lookin’ good (jk)
Legends
Tyshawn, hurricane hammers
I’m not sure if the pigs were watching or waiting
Jafin representing 510
And for the finale, everyone lined up for a best trick on the bump to bar.
Transfer tailslide?
Backside 180 over the whole kit
“I don’t know who this dude is,” but the coupon is worth a free pair of shoes if you happened to be so lucky as to get one
They had a box of soccer balls! Best product toss I’ve seen
Classic
Everyone had a blast. Thanks, adidas!

This Old Ledge: Grant's Tomb
Who’s buried at Grant’s Tomb? Not just a former president and his wife (and dog). A more recent and gnarly history lives at this Upper West Side spot, highlighted by Ted Barrow and the rippers who tested the beveled blocks at this exalted NYC staple. -

SOTY Party 2023 Photos
Once the decision is made, the only thing left is one big ol’ bash in The City to cap the year off right. Karl Watson came through for the official handoff along with a host of A-listers from Primitive, adidas and our home turf. Couldn’t get in the door? Catch it all here. -

This Old Ledge: Pier 7
For over 25 years, Pier 7 has been at the center of technical skating. It’s not just where you are, but who you’re with and how you roll. That code of conduct was forged in the ’90s along San Francisco's waterfront. -

This Old Ledge: Bay Blocks
Though “The Ribbon” was a doomed project for city government, the stretch of concrete blocks along the Embarcadero further cemented San Francisco’s mecca status in the ’90s and beyond. -

This Old Ledge: Hubba Hideout
It’s not just what they did, but where they did it, and what they named it. Hubba Hideout cemented the importance of location more than any other spot. In episode 2, Ted shifts from EMB to the most famous ledge in the history of skateboarding.
