New York Guts

We went out to New York to set up the second installment of the Love + Guts Thrasher art and photo show.

Like unloading the ark.

Dave's packing order was immaculate.

Then he really took charge.

Hella shit.

Dude!

The legends show up.

Laboring into the night.

Next day - the light at the end of the tunnel.

Some of Lance's new paintings for the show. Really nice.

Skate Break!

Concrete sesh at the newish Chelsea Piers Park.

Papo!

Over the hip, around the deep, no big deal.

Bennett!

I'm usually good at picking out obscure stars of yesteryear, but I was stumped with this air blaster.

Turns out it was Ryan Monihan.

Mike from Florida. He's everywhere.

Hatchell, bucking the 30-plus trend.

Ivory Serra, totally ripping.

Brigaders.

Minds, generally blown.

Back to work.

This new piece by Neckface was the undisputed winner of the show.

I plan on stealing it at some point.

The heavies start to arrive. BK, for instance.

Dollin, also bat-like.

Sally points out some of her faves.

Yeah, that was a nice time.

Hammeke showed up with his sister.

Wore his nicest shorts for the occasion.

Delatorre and Crew.

Thirst and Dude.

That's more like it.

Mountain and Rhino, art enthusiasts.

Mickey made the wall, a couple times.

Like it was yesterday.

Big Apple Heavyweights:  Armando, Ivory and Rodney.

Who knew Duane was ever a kid?

My old Colorado bro, Zickert and a local shredder.

The kids trip out on a young Mullen.

Hambone and Barndog, fresh off another Toy tour.

Junt Associates.

Ben and David Cross.

JK! It's Joe's buddy, Rob.

Of course he is.

Collin, riding high off that first-place qualifying.

Action News was there, thank God.

'Remember that time you were eating that banana?!!! That was awesome!!!!!!'

411 great, Evan Schiefelbine.

I reunited a couple of old friends.

Dave - a-shuckin' and a-jivin'.

And in the end, Daniel got himself a personal driver, too!

On a serious, non-piggy-back-ride note, a hardy Thrasher thanks to our generous benefactors, including Dylan and the art lovers at Oakley and Anne and her art-thirsty Red Bull gang, who gave us the beautiful space, talented assistants and brain-scrambling beverages. Y'all are the best.
