4th of July at Double Rock

Photos: Dan Zaslavsky

Fireworks season in foggy San Francisco usually means it's time to break out the parkas and beanies—unless you live where we work and play, Hunter's Point, the sunniest 'hood in The Bay. And with the Levi's X Nike 511 Skateboarding Collection all set to drop on July 4th, the script essentially wrote itself: Time to open up Double Rock, invite our friends down, turn up the tunes, and have a lil' celebration.

From groms to glam, lurkers to legends, and rockers to rap heads, all basked in a sun-filled stoke of an afternoon filled with firecrackers, boards, burgers, and fine sisters dolled up in their stars-and-bars best. It really is true: Moms and apple pie, Levi's and Nike, Thrasher and Omar Salazar, American as fuck. HBD, USA!

Foundation never left, but this video launches them back onto the center of the map. Great soundtrack, awesome videography, and an entire team of skateboarding banshees make for a winning recipe of success.

In an age of overly-produced video shorts, the F troop kept it true to the core and stuck with the tried-and-true formula with a half-hour video of straight hammers. Check out some photos from the premiere here.
