Find the earliest mention of the Thrasher BBS and win this 500GB harddrive from Iomega
Posted: July 15, 2010
Unless you're a really old fart, you probably didn't know that Thrasher invented the Internet back in the early 1980s. Before websites had photos, skaters from around the world got connected via the Thrasher Bulletin Board System (Thrasher BBS, get it?).
Fast forward almost 30 years, and only the crusty old dudes who work at the mag remember anything about it. Help us find the earliest reference to the Thrasher BBS and you'll win one of these 500GB portable hard drives, courtesy of Iomega.
HOW THIS CONTEST WORKS:
All the mags from the early '80s are posted up here. Click any cover to view the whole mag, click any photo to enlarge. (Hint: start with January 1981).
When you find a reference to the Thrasher BBS, email us the issue and page number to be entered into the drawing. If multiple people find the earliest reference, a winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!
