Title: P2 Decks?
Post by: outsider716 on July 01, 2012, 09:50:14 AM
I get the sense that quite a few of you guys are traditionalists when it comes to skating, as am I for the most part; but hear me out.

I'm not a big dude; at 37 years old I'm tipping the scales at 165. I've never had a problem with cracking or snapping decks before, but lately I've been going through them like crazy. In the past few months I've cracked or snapped 5 decks. Two of them were brand spanking new (one was on the first day I was riding it and another on the second!)

I don't have a shit ton of cash to keep on buying decks every couple of days and I'm wondering if any of you have tried the P2's? What was your experience? Did the decks really seem stronger/last longer? What about the "spring loaded pop"? Did it really make a difference?

I'm looking at a MYSTERY Tom Asta Freedom P2 deck right now. If somebody with some real experience with these decks can give me a positive review, I might have to snatch it up.

i'm 36 and 180lbs.  i've snapped a half dozen boards on the last few months. sort of rare for me.  i figure it's just because i'm trying new stuff and i'm obviously landing wrong. that includes tricks that i rarely do but it all goes wrong when i'm fucking around.  probably 3 or 4 different deck brands so as far as i'm concerned, it's not the wood, it's the skater.

cracked the tail on my 5 session old real board yesterday. on a flat ground rolling kick flip.  what a loser.

but most likely, it's just because you're old.

Been riding DLX boards, Antihero and Real the past 3-4 years and have only snapped one or two from landing wrong on small drops. Not bad for a 200lb fatty.  Now, I have focused a bunch but thats a different story.

I break a stupid amount of decks. Broke one today. Broke 2 last week. Have broken 5 or 6 P2 decks. They don't seem to be anything special to me.

Thanks for the replies. I found the one I was looking at for a decent price online with free shipping, so I guess I'll check it out and see how long it lasts...I'm not expecting a miracle.

I know that it has a lot to do with my skating too...If I could land bolts every time I wouldn't be the beaten up old man I am and my decks would last a lot longer.
