I know I'm a nerd but I don't care. I love doing this stuff. Here is my third skateboarder sculpture. Cardiel from Sight Unseen. It's obviously incomplete at this point but I think you'll get the idea. I have no idea what's going to happen to it when finished. I was wondering if I could get some help from you guys actually. I need some tight reference to finish the sculpture. I'm looking for portrait photos. I'm assuming he was wearing Vans but what set? And I'm guessing he was riding an Anti-Hero deck... what graphic??? Any info would be a big help. I'd like to really nail this. Everytime I feel like slacking off I remember this guy taught himself to walk again. I'm sure most of you don't know but I sculpted JT and Stevie Cab as well you can check those out on my gay art blog. LOL

Thats pretty damn sick.  How long does that take to do?  Seems tedious.

I know its not finished but I like how it has no color.... hell make it bronze and use it for future SOTY trophies!  Smiley

that sculpture is really great. inspiritional even.

but i still think you should've gone the direction that colorblind and myself originally tried to steer you in...

How about about when he ate shit before the smith grind in his sight unseen part.  That would be sick!

yes!!! and put his hat on a little wire so it can bounce around!

LOL I remember this! I suppose you could argue that that would be demeaning, but then it is Cardiel and he wasn't in his glory unless he was sacrificing himself. Maybe that'll be my next one.

i hope so. i think  a whole series of "moment of impact" would be sick.

seeing the slams that go into getting certian tricks is sometimes more impressive than the tricks themselves.

like, smith grinding that wall on top of that bank is gnarly, but getting up and trying it again after getting fucked like that is even gnarlier.

Yeah definitely. The problem is, it would be very difficult to sculpt something like that without making it look silly or demeaning. Maybe I'll give it a shot one day.

I agree with you  Ehren, the amount of blood, sweat and tears you put into
your art is equal to the that of your subject's and their abilities. In that way
the sculpture is a celebration of skating. I want to see them Skating and Destroying!
Not eating shit.

Keep up the good work!

I appreciate it. Cardiel is so inspiring. I've watched his Sight Unseen part soooo many times. It's still amazing to me how much energy he throws into his skating. Unreal. Certainly something to aspire to.

Your sculptures are really, really good. I mean just look at that back smith, it's full on Cardiel style. So did you ever get to finish the Reynolds and Johnny Romano ones, if so I would love to see pics. Please keep up the great job man, and if your up for suggestions I've always thought  B/S Nosebluntslides  were sick.

So ironic man... that Koston pic is already on my 'shortlist'. You've got good taste! LOL! As for the Reynolds and Romano, they are on hold at this point. I started both of those when I had some bad crap going on in my life and totally lost my artistic vision with them. I'm not one to push ahead with something if I'm not feeling it. I'll work my way back into them eventually. I'd love to finish the Romano sculpt and give one to his family. Or is that weird?
