Just moved to chicago, looking for some good spots, I see some everyday, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Possibly some nice bowls, anything really.

Thanks

You could try the C wall on lakeshore drive. There are also two skateparks on lakeshore drive Wilson and  Burnham. The Monroe Gap. You could also go outside of the city to the suburbs and skate the drainage ditches in Rockford IL.

Dude the drainage ditches in Rockford sound like they might be pretty epic. Thanks bro, i'll have to go check them out.

BTW, this photo is of the ditches, they look like they might be pretty fun, (obviously I'm not the one skateboarding in them)

Damn that spot looks so fun. I have a friend that used to live in the suburb Oak Park(I think thats what its called) He showed me some photos of these ledges at a school there that went on for days. If I find out exactly where they are at I'll let you know. Is there a bunch of snow on the ground out there yet?

Walk or skate along Michigan Ave and just scope shit out.  There's soo much shit there, man.  Everything is marble and there's ledges for days.  Stair sets everywhere.  Yeah, just explore that area.

EC Central High School in East Chicago is also worth checking out but don't go on a school day. Definate bust.

I'm not big on the parks here, I've only been to a few though.  Schools are a definite score, just make sure
you go around dusk, usually the cops don't hassle you much.  I don't know what part you live in, but downtown after like 5 is epic, especially the alley ways, you can find pole jams, loading ramps and docks, walls that have a slope to wallride for days, and ledges from 3'' to 18'' if you are gnarly, and about the only bust is a disgruntled worker who will just call you names.  I've lived here about a year, and I have rarely skated the same place more than a few times, there is tons of shit out there.  I know I'm forgetting some shit because it's 7 am, but I'll post other spots too when I recall them.

Why do they call it "smoking the rockford"

I figure it means one of two things:

1. The spot is so fun, that its addicting, like smoking rock
2. You're gonna get thrashed on this spot.
