Bad Brains is working on new material in upstate New York. It is expected (according to Megaforce) to release late-summer 2011. Album is said to be ""channeling progressive elements", I don't know what that means but hopefully they don't dramatically change up on how they play. Keep the good music flowing bros.

I wonder what it will be like? They've had some pretty diverse albums if you look from the self titled and rock for light all the way up to quickness, there's a lot of different sounds there. I hear HR is pretty crazy these days too. Do you know if it's the original band, dr. Know and everyone? That could make a difference. It's exciting, could sound like anything, from punk to metal to reggae, they started as a jazz fusion band, it could even have some of those elements. I just hope it's fast.

I have this feeling it's going to sound like a Living Color record.... I really hope it doesn't but after putting out the Pay To Cum 7", Rock For Light and the RIOR cassette it's gotta be hard to come up with anything that could come anywhere close to the awesomeness they once had.

Those albums are awesome, but I think a lot of times a band will make one great album and then spend the rest of their career trying to remake that album, and it usually doesn't work out. The Bad Brains are one of those bands that seems to progress and evolve from album to album, and I respect that about them. I find that to be more interesting to listen to, as long as they stay true to themselves along the way. I think as long as they stay true to themselves, whatever it sounds like it will be good.

On a side note though, I really hope it's fast and heavy, in true Bad Brains fashion.
