JELLO BIAFRA'S 50th
Words and photos: Schmitty
Former lead singer of the Dead Kennedys, Jello Biafra, had a big birthday bash last night at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The venue was packed to capacity as Los Olvidados, The Drunk Injuns, The Melvins, and his new project Jello Biafra & the Axis of Evildoers, rocked the house. At the end of the night The Melvins came out and played a final set with Jello that took me back to The Farm days with jams like “Bleed For Me,” “California Über Alles,” and more. It's not every day you see a shirtless 50-year-old man doing stage dives into a croud screaming for more, but then again, there's not too many out there like Jello Biafra. Congrats on making it to 50 Jello, and thanks for the memories. —Schmitty
