HOSOI x RVCA Party Blog
As the clock hit 6pm, the doors opened and the crowd started to make their way in
The man of the hour
Most can imagine the sound happening here
SOTY ’93 serving slices to the masses
Steve Olson was a worthy opponent on the ping-pong table for the night. Is that T-Mag?
Brandon Jensen and A-Stone overseeing the crowd
Mark Oblow showing face (and art)
Getting the crowd warmed up for Guerrero
The professor trying what all the kids are doing these days
Scott Oster taking a break for the parking-lot massage
Pops Hosoi going impromptu for the growing crowd
And some from earlier in the evening
Three's a crowd? Nah
Jose Cerda with DD, who took a break from the mic for a night
Planned or coincidence?
Fast forward an hour and a half and he’s still going strong on the table. Who knew ping pong was such a good workout?
Pies were clearing out fast
Not a bad time to move to the bowl
Commemoration to the legend wheatpasted by Oblow
Dominick Walker always bringing the dimes
Hassan firing it up for the crowd
All ages lined up to take what they could get
Legends' corner, straining necks to get eyes on Hosoi’s run
Taking it backside around the bend never fails to disappoint
And the verdict is in: still a fan favorite!
Nothing but smiles from Lucero
Did we mention it was Pops' birthday?
Nearly impossible to fit the crowd into one frame
Like father like son
Slowly drawing the crowd back into the main space
You know its worthwhile when this many phones start coming out
It would only be half the show without the bongos, right?
Layered banana cake to close out the evening. Most birthday cakes can’t touch this
In the words of Sinner, “This shit makes me grow!”
Then things started to get a bit messy.
No better way to end the party than going face-first into the cake. Congratulations to the Hosoi’s and thanks for the epic night, RVCA!
