Recently, Vans EU held its tenth annual Shop Riot contest in the majestic, fashion famous city of Milan, Italy. The contest had all the right ingredients in place for an epic party: food vendors, amazing corse, shop crews and skateboarding’s favorite son, John Cardiel. Although there could only be one winning shop, every person in attendance felt the overwhelming good vibes with the local teams ripping together. Thanks, Vans! —Federico Casella

In typical Vans fashion, everyone eats

And in typical EU fashion, everyone drinks as well

Cardiel showed up and watched the skaters from the DJ station

And so it begins

Maksim Kruglov from Traektoria Boardshop, front feeble

Rob Maatman from Burnside switch 50-50d the handrail first try, leaving everybody speechless

The Traektoria guys double teamed the double set with a couple of crooked grinds

Simon Perrottet owned the double set, unloading a ton of tricks including this switch heel

Aref Koushesh grabbed someone else’s board and slid a backside noseblunt on top of the stairset. He also slid some money into his pocket

Jacopo Carozzi floats backside for the viewing pleasure of the photographers on deck

Things got a little rev’d up when Cards started throwing money

Italian skate legend and Bastard co-owner Max Bonassi was feeling the vibes

Nassim felt ‘em too

Everybody wanted to give John some love

And the winner is… Burnside!
